Years of Waiting, One Step of Faith and a Life Transformed
Apr 23, 2026By Hortence Kofi
In September 2024, I finally stepped into a journey I had been carrying in my heart for years. My desire to become a coach didn’t begin recently; it started in 2021, the moment I first heard about DRC.
I remember intentionally joining the 2021 Provision Conference online, excited to learn and expecting to receive something meaningful. But I didn’t expect what happened next.
When Dr. Sam Chand began to speak about coaching, something shifted inside me. For the first time, I heard coaching described in a way that aligned perfectly with what I had always felt called to do: help people unlock their potential, pursue their purpose, and walk boldly into who they were created to be.
In that moment, I knew: This is it!
But even with that clarity, the timing didn’t seem possible.
For two years, the desire stayed strong and persistent, while my financial challenges stayed just as present. Every time I thought about enrolling, I told myself, not yet. I waited for the perfect circumstances, the perfect savings, the perfect season.
But dreams don’t fade just because life feels complicated.
They wait.
And in September 2024, I realized I couldn’t wait any longer.
With only $100 in my account, I made the decision to register anyway. I didn’t want fear or finances to dictate the direction of my calling anymore. I took the step, not knowing how the rest would work out. Then the breakthrough came.
In a way only God can orchestrate, the exact amount I prayed for was provided. Unexpected support appeared and covered the remaining cost. It wasn’t just provision; it was confirmation; a reminder that when we move in faith, heaven responds.
Joining DRC has been one of the most transformative decisions of my life. It didn’t just develop me as a coach; it stretched me as a leader, strengthened my confidence, refined my mindset, and connected me with a community grounded in growth, empowerment, strategy, and heart.
If there is one message, I hope my story inspires, it is this:
Don’t let obstacles decide the fate of your dreams.
Sometimes the breakthrough only comes after you take the step.
Investing in your growth is never something you’ll regret. I certainly don’t. This journey changed my life, and it began the moment I stopped delaying what I was called to become.
